Raffy Santiago 

 

After spending much of his youth in his native Puerto Rico, Raffy Santiago Played baseball at George Bush High School in Houston, Texas where he was 4 year letterman for the Broncos.  During his prep career, he was a 3 time 23-5A All-District selection and earned hitter of the year awards at Bush 3 consecutive years.   He holds the single season hit record (42) and batting average record (.463) and during his senior year he finished in the Houston area top 15 in hitting during senior year with a .463 batting average.  Raffy was selected as a member of HABCA 5A Southwest All-Star team after his senior year.  During high school, he played summer baseball for the Houston Raiders.  

 

After high school, Raffy signed to play at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas as Catcher and Outfielder.  

 

After college, Raffy began coaching summer teams for Bush High School and Westbury Christian. Raffy would be hired full time to coach at Westbury Christian School from 2011-2014. Raffy’s  focus was with the catchers, outfielders, and team hitting.  His coaching success earned him an invitation to become a member of the HABCA Junior All-Star Team coaching staff.  In 2012, he was named to the Columbia Angels coaching staff where they worked together to expand the organization into the 12U, 11U, 10U, 9U, & 8U age groups. Coach Santiago also coached for the Texas Spikes in 2012.
