Cat Everett, a Houston native, will lead our first high school team in the Summer of 2015.
Cat comes to the Houston Athletics staff after a very decorated High School, College, and Professional baseball career. A 3-year Letterman as a shortstop at Lamar High School, Cat helped lead the Redskins to a 74-22 record during his prep career. A 3-time all-district shortstop, Cat was also named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 5A All-State team following his final campaign.
After his senior year, Cat signed and play shortstop for Tulane University. A 3-year starter for the Green Wave, Cat helped Tulane reach the College World Series in Omaha during his freshman season.
Following his Junior year at Tulane, Cat was drafted by the Houston Astros and played for several years in the Astro's minor league system.
Since retiring from the game as a player, Cat has stayed around the game both as a personal instructor, and a youth baseball coach. Cat has an amazing passion for the game and is committed to the development of all his players and teams.
